Meet-ups

Meet-ups are a way to build a stronger community of like-minded people. The OHC urges members to have regular Meet-up events in their area, and just enjoy engaging with others to share organizing issues and solutions.

The OHC Group Leaders are usually the ones who arrange this, but anyone can jump in to organize a meet-up event if they wish.

How do you hold a Meet-up event?

The place to schedule an OHC Meet-up is to go to our Meetup.com place and join our Meetup group there (by clicking “Join This Meetup Group”). The OHC is “the Organizer” for the Group, so you don’t need to pay any fees at all, as this is provided for by OHC.

Any Meetup group member can add their own Meetup meeting. If you wish to have a bigger role, like an Event Organizer”, contact OHC to let us know you want to be an “Event Organizer”. We’ll then change your role in the group from member to Event Organizer.

You can hold a Meet-up at a public venue, or at your home. The idea is to make it a place where people can talk and have fun.

You can also arrange Meet-ups without going through Meetup.com, but it may require a little more effort. With Meetup.com, it handles the registration process for you, and let’s you stay in communication with those who you’ve invited and those who have RSVP’d for your Meet-up.
